Reciban un fraternal saludo padrinos, que día tras día piensan en la superación y apoyo tanto con sus oraciones como económico, a personas que como yo que queremos un mejor futuro tanto para nosotros como para nuestras familias; Dios les continúe bendiciendo.

Les cuento que inicié estudios universitarios a partir del 2 de febrero. Estudio en la Universidad Industrial de Santander de un municipio que se llama Málaga, que queda a 4 horas del municipio donde está mi casa familiar.

El separarme de mi casa y enfrentarme al mundo sola ha sido duro y he tenido que esforzarme mucho para aprobar las materias que son en su mayoría Matemáticas y números, pues mi idea es estudiar una Ingeniería. Les cuento que mis calificaciones han sido satisfactorias pero debo mejorarlas si quiero ingresar a la carrera que deseo Ingeniería de Petróleos o Ingeniería Química, sé que con la ayuda de Dios lo lograré.

También les comento que he tenido que dejar de lado la música, desde que salí de mi casa no he vuelto a interpretar el saxofón. Tengo la idea de visitar a mi familia en Semana Santa y de paso volver a practicar un poco la música además de reencontrarme con mis compañeros de la Banda a la cual todavía pertenezco y saludar a mi profe de música.

Gracias nuevamente por esa ayuda tan importante que estoy recibiendo de parte de ustedes, voy a aprovecharla al máximo para lograr mi meta.

May God continue to bless you. I want you to know that I started my college education on February 2nd. I study at the Universidad Industrial de Santander in Malaga municipality. This university is four hours away from the town where my family lives.

To be away from my home and face the world by myself has been difficult. I have had to make big efforts to get good grades in my subjects which are mostly math and numbers because I want to study to become an engineer. I want to tell you that I have gotten good grades but I want to do even better because it is required to be accepted into the Oil (petroleum) or Chemistry Engineering career. With God’s help I will do it!

I have not been able to continue taking music lessons. Since I left home I have not been able to play the saxophone. I am planning to visit my family on Easter and also to practice music and get together with my band’s friends (I am still a member of the band). I will also say hello to my music teacher.

Reciban un saludo muy especial y un abrazo fraterno al finalizar este año.

De mi parte y de mi familia queremos darles inmensas gracias por siempre tenernos en cuenta. Estoy a un mes de terminar mis estudios de bachillerato y me invaden sentimientos encontrados, pues estoy feliz por terminar una etapa más en mi vida, pero también tengo tristeza porque de ahora en adelante debo separarme de mi familia y viajar a otra ciudad a iniciar mis estudios superiores, pues en mi pueblo no existen universidades.

Dentro de los planes tanto de mis padres como míos está que vaya a una Ciudad llamada Málaga a estudiar en una Universidad Industrial de Santander, para iniciar con el semestre introductorio y de los resultados obtenidos depende si puedo matricularme a la carrera que quiero estudiar que es Ingeniería de Petróleos o Bioquímica.

Por otra parte quiero enviar de mi familia y de mi parte un saludo muy especial de Navidad y año nuevo lleno de prosperidad y felicidad. Quiero contarles que en mi pueblo la navidad es llena de fiesta y celebración, además de mucha oración y unión familia, ah! y mucha comida.

Con respecto a mi carrera en la música les cuento que sigo practicando y aprendiendo cada vez más, sigo enamorada del saxofón, me fascina y es mi joby practicarlo y en el mes de diciembre tenemos varias presentaciones para amenizar festividades.

Para finalizar, estoy complacida por volver a contarles cosas de mi vida familiar y personal, y voy a disfrutar al máximo este resto de año con mi familiar, pues el próximo será de mucha responsabilidad y estudio y de pronto de soledad.

Espero saber noticias de ustedes muy pronto y quiero que sepan que siempre los llevo en mi corazón y le pido mucho a Dios en mis oraciones por que haya bendiciones para ustedes y sus familias.

On behalf of my family and on my own we want to thank you immensely for thinking of us always. In a month I will finish my high school classes and there are mixed feelings about that. On one hand I am happy because I am about to end one more stage of my life, but on the other hand I am also sad because from now on I must leave my family and travel to another city to study at the university. There are no universities in the town I live in now.

It is my plan and also my parents’ to go to a city called Malaga to study at the Universidad Industrial de Santander. There I will start taking introductory classes and depending on the results I get, I will be able to register to study Oil Engineering or Biochemistry.

On behalf of my family and on my own, I want to send a special Christmas greeting and wish you a New Year full of prosperity and happiness. I want you to know that Christmas in my town is full of parties and celebration, a lot of prayers, family reunions and, oh!, a lot of food.

In regards to my career as musician, I continue to practice and learn more and more. I still love the saxophone, I really like it and it is my hobby to practice it. In December we have several performances to make more enjoyable the festivities.

Last but not least, I am happy to be able to share again with you things about my family and myself. I am going to have a lot of fun with my family the days left from this year because next year will bring a lot of responsibilities, studies and maybe loneliness.

Queridos padrinos reciban un gran saludo.

De mi parte quiero que sepan que estoy muy bien gracias a Dios y pues también un poco nerviosa porque el 4 de septiembre son las pruebas de estado que le hacen a todos los estudiantes de último grado para ver su promedio de aprendizaje, análisis y comprensión.

Del promedio de esta prueba está si puedo estudiar la carrera que quiero o si tengo que escoger otra que vaya de acuerdo con mi promedio…. Me gustan las matemáticas y la química, pues las entiendo bien y me gustaría estudiar ingeniería de petróleos que va acuerdo a lo que me gusta.

También quiero contarles que me ha ido súper bien en mis estudios y que ya se avecina el día de mi graduación, y creo que va ser muy bonito y feliz porque ahí nos damos cuenta el esfuerzo y de las ganas que pusimos en la vida de estudiante y pues también va a ser muy triste porque es ahí donde me separo de todos mis compañeros que estuvieron conmigo en esa linda etapa.

El municipio donde yo resido cumple el 12 de septiembre 200 años de fundación, por lo cual se va hacer una fiesta muy grande para demostrar el orgullo de nuestro pueblo, va a ser algo muy bonito y cultural; como estoy en la banda sinfónica de mi municipio tenemos que dar una gran serenata lo cual esta semana voy a estar súper ocupada ensayando los temas q vamos a tocar y además también estoy en el grupo de danzas ensayando muy duro para dar una buena presentación a todo el pueblo.

I want you to now that I’m very well, thanks to God and well, I’m also a little nervous because on September 4th there are the state exams which all the students from the last grade take to see how much they’ve learned in both analysis and comprehension.
From the exam’s score I’ll see if I can study in the major that I want to study or if I have to choose another one that fits with my score... I like math and chemistry. I understand them well and I would like to study oil engineering which goes with what I like.

I also wanted to tell you that school has been very good for me and the day of my graduation is already approaching. I think it will be a very beautiful and happy occasion because from there we will realize the effort and hard work that we put into our lives as students. But it will also be very sad because I’ll be separating from all my classmates who were with me through this beautiful period of time.

The town where I live is going to celebrate its 200 year anniversay on September 12th. They’re going to have a big party to show our town’s pride, it will be very beautiful and cultural. As I’m in my town’s orchestra, we’ll be giving a big serenade, which I’ll be very busy with rehearsing the things we’ll play and I’m also in a dance group rehearsing to give a good performance to the town.

En nuestras oraciones pedimos a Dios porque les siga bendiciendo para que ayuden a cumplir los sueños de muchos niños y niñas como yo, con deseos de superación.

Este año termino mis estudios de bachillerato, tendré el Título de Bachiller Técnico con Especialidad en comercio, también con la ayuda de Dios recibiré un certificación del SENA.

Me estoy preparando para presentar las pruebas del ICFES pues necesito obtener buenos resultados en ese examen porque de ahí depende mucho mi ingreso a la Universidad.

Estoy también buscando por todos los medios e informándome acerca de qué carrera elegir porque es algo determinante para mi vida, me gustan las Matemáticas por eso me inclinaré por una carrera afín.

Con respecto a mi joby me retiré del equipo de baloncesto del colegio y me quedé en el grupo de música, este fin de semana hicimos nuestra primera presentación de este año al público, esto fue dar la bienvenida al Señor. Obispo de la Iglesia Católica, quien visitó nuestro municipio. Por cierto nos fue muy bien!!!!!.

Ya estamos terminando el primer periodo de cuatro que debemos cursar en el año y me fue muy bien.

Through this letter, I want to greet you and let you know that my family and I are doing well.

I want you to know that I am very happy because this school year has been great and also because I am one of the best students in my class.

Besides attending classes, I also play sports and take music lessons. I am good at it. On September 16 the basketball team I belong to will go to Tibana Municipality representing the Norte and Gutierrez County. We will compete with other basketball teams until we have a champion. My team and I are very happy because we believe we will win and will bring success to the town.

As for music, I play the saxophone, and we had our first concert last July 20th. The concert was given to all the people in the town and it went really well. We received congratulations from those who attended. The music teacher we had is no longer with us so we are getting used to the new teacher’s teaching method which has been difficult but not impossible.
