Shanmuganathan lives with her father, her mother and her three younger sisters. Her three sisters are still in primary school and her father stays home each day due to illness. Her mother, a tea-picker, is the only person who brings money into the household. Shanmuganathan’s major concern is that she’s unable to contribute to her family’s welfare while she is in school training to be a teacher. She needs help paying for sustenance and for transportation to and from the Tea Leaf Vision school each day.
