The Laini Saba Community Library was officially launched on 21st March 2014. Local officials joined with teachers, primary school pupils and students from several universities around Nairobi to show their support.

Since the launch on Friday there has been consistently around 30 children coming to use the library after school each day. Project Manager Moses is really encouraged by the number of children coming and their excitement about the library. Moses reports that several children have asked that the library stay open later into the evening so they can have more time to finish their homework.

The Easter holidays are just around the corner and Moses is planning some events to raise the library's profile in the community. Debating clubs, spelling bees, essay competitions are all on the cards for future events to get local children excited about reading, writing and public speaking.
