Profile

I am a senior (Year 13) at Chinese International School in Hong Kong. As a Givology volunteer, I believe wholeheartedly that education is the catalyst for positive social change, economic development and gender equality. I am interested in blogging to raise awareness of education issues worldwide, and hope to use social media to drive interest to Givology's mission and inspire people to give to the Givology network. When not managing Givology's content, I love to run cross country, develop study resources, make inspirational typographies for Tumblr, and travel. My favorite subjects are physics, mathematics, and chemistry.

Megan Foo: What inspires you to direct and work with SKIP? Liz Wilson: I think my ongoing motivation to work in SKIP is because the families we work with are truly some of the most courageous and wonderful people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. The past 5 years have been amazing and it has been incredible to see how the SKIP community; volunteers, families and staff, have all come together to create such a wonderful programme. Therefore, in addition to providing direct educational opportunities in the form of additional lessons and help with homework, we also support the entire family through programmes in social work, psychology and econom...

Where did you attend high school? I went to Central Bucks West High School in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Which university will you be attending? In August I'll be attending Wellesley College in Massachusetts. It's about half an hour outside Boston and I'm stoked to explore the city! What are you looking forward to studying in university? What did you study in high school? At Wellesley I'll either major in Economics and minor in Political Science, or major in both if I decide to later on. After taking AP Macroeconomics and AP Comparative Government in high school I realized that I'm really interested in economics and politics. These two classes were particularly fascinating to me because they taught me about how the world works in a way that felt so much more tangible and applicable than any course I've taken before. I was able to apply a lo...
