Atta is one of many students Givology supports in Africa. Atta lives in Akrofonso, a poor farming area in the Asante Region, Ghana. At age five, he lost his mother. Along with his brothers and sisters, he has been raised by his grandmother. Atta’s grandmother has cared and provided for the family, since Atta’s father is not in the picture. His grandmother’s ailing health has brought financial distress to Atta’s household, and Atta has faced many difficulties to stay in school. His future is continually jeopardized by his household’s economic insecurity. Nevertheless, Atta is determined to stay in school. ...
