The past week has yielded record-breaking donor activity, as many new projects have become fully funded. However, we also want to remind you of our other projects, including Teacher and Training projects by one of our newer partners, Sheed Society in Pakistan.

Sheed Society was a tiny NGO when first founded in 1995. It was established to address the lack of education and to create HIV/AIDS awareness among the prostitutes and their children living shunned and oppressed in Pakistan.

Sheed also recently made a special Givology video slideshow, depicting some of the students they work with (below)

We must support this project, this teachers training can educate thousand of kids especially in this area. As far as investments go, what are the best ones to purchase for our children? Say if you want to create a nest egg for their college education or dowry – that sort of thing. Perhaps the traditional one is best, as savings bonds are now, as they had been for some time, one of the most stable investments. They may not have the highest average return, but they are more stable than stocks or mutual funds, and can also be established in a minor's name. A package of savings bonds can help fund an education, or provide a nice chunk of extra cash when they turn 18.
