Profile

As a Givology volunteer, I believe in the power of education as being the catalyst to improving communities by enabling socioeconomic as well as economic progress. I graduated high school from Newark Academy in June of 2014, and have decided to defer my start at the University of Pennsylvania in order to take a gap year. During my gap year, I will be serving as a corps member to City Year--an Americorps program which seeks to decrease school drop out rates by increasing attendance and the overall quality of students' education. By understanding the issues facing education in developed countries through City Year, and continuing to learn more about the issues facing developing countries through Givology, I hope to be able to best utilize my university education to best enable change in the future.
